Name: Marcell Songco aka Dj Songco

What year did you start deejaying?
I started in 1997. I bought vinyl turntables from my friend on the last day of high school and have been doing it ever since.

Why did you start deejaying?
I grew up in Los Angeles, CA with music constantly playing around the house. I eventually figured out that it could be a fun hobby. Turns out my hobby became my job and I am grateful for it.

What do you LOVE about Deejaying?
I love the roar of the crowd when I play the right song at the right time. There's no better feeling for me. Making people happy while I do what I love is priceless.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to travel and have had the opportunity to dj in other countries as well. Watching endless music videos and all kinds of movies and tv.

I am a huge sports fan. NBA, UFC/MMA are my favorite sports to watch.

What advice would you give for hosting a great event?
Communication is key between the dj and the party host. Just tell me what you need and I'll make sure to take of that for you. Great food and drinks are always a plus in my book.

Bio: I was always a music fan since I was a small child. Billy Joel, Michael Jackson and The Beatles were always playing at home. I got interested in dj'n when I saw a dj playing at my high school dance. I wasn't sure what the dj was doing, I just knew I wanted to do that too. At Pasadena city college, I took an introduction to radio and TV production and that sharpened my skills. I was eventually offered a job being the Instructor's assistant for the radio production classes. At the time I was going to school, worked in the radio station, was an assistant for the physical education department and also dj'd at a bar/restaurant after work and school. I definitely hustled to be where I am today and I am extremely proud of that. I look forward to performing for your event!
